Skin representing my favorite livery for the Corsair II and now the discord emote is now real!!
Updated: adjusted formatting and compression for the skin due to issues for some players. Please re-download if you are encountering visual issues! Thank you!
The history of this livery is very singular. Back in 1973, Don West, a Supervisor of the Corrosion/Control Shop at the Korat RTAFB during Linebacker II, was approached by a young Corsair II pilot and requested some nose-art that he had drawn to be painted on the Commanders aircraft. This threw West off since it wasn’t similar to the F-4 and F-104 sharkmouths in the squadron, but something else… West, a veteran and master nose-art creator though the “drawing” was the most idiotic, ridiculous art he had ever seen. Nevertheless, after countless begs and pleading and the promise of free beer from the young pilot, West drew the “goofy” nose-art which took him about eight hours to complete.
Once the Commander showed up, alongside many of the other young pilots, West saw what could only be described as a “Parents Disappointing Look” on his face and knew his nose-art was doomed. After giving the pilots a good ol’ tongue lashing, the Commander demanded the “art” to be removed from his aircraft… and like that, in five minutes, it was gone and replaced by the SEA colors. 8 hours down the drain, but West couldn't be more relived. It would later sport the typical “sharkmouth” markings.
Template has been totally recreated from the ground up using as much references I could find and completed in 8K resolutions, saved as DDS formats and ready for the Market! Thanks to @teo_storm1 for the UV files.
Also included in my special "Virtual Damage System" for that maintenance and repair hanger look, check it out!
我创作的 "虚拟损坏系统" 的维护和维修架的破损外观, 看看!
